The 66-year-old style maven is a stallholder at Dirty Jane's in both Canberra and Bowral, each store outlets for her antique jewellery business Saramai Jewels.

Thursday evening - and there are still tickets available - Sarah Jane will be in conversation in Fyshwick with Dirty Jane's owner Jane Crowley, speaking about all things fabulous and, particularly, her "unorthodox memoir", Life in a Box.

The title of the memoir is obviously provocative - Sarah Jane has not lived her life in a box, becoming an international model and overnight Instagram sensation in her sixties and, most recently, a contestant on the latest series of Big Brother, currently on air on Prime7.

But Jane Crowley says Sarah Jane's book is also about life in a box in the sense it is about the meaning behind things we own.

Arranged as an auction catalogue, the book lists items belonging to Sarah Jane and against each she explains why it has meaning and the memories and feelings it evokes.

"It's one of the most unique books I've ever read," Crowley said.

Sarah Jane, a mother-of-two and entrepreneur from inner-west Sydney, had her life turned upside down in 2014 when her daughter posted on Instagram a photo of "SJ" wearing a red Adidas tracksuit.

The post went viral and Sarah Jane now has more than 200,000 followers on social media, proudly growing older and more fabulous with the hashtag #mywrinklesaremystripes. Her sense of style is wonderful.

"I think her main message is: 'Just be who you are'," Crowley said.

"Whether you're straight up and down or left of field or right of field, just be you."

Sarah Jane being in the Big Brother house has even persuaded Crowley to watch the reality show for the first time. Each housemate is competing to be the last one standing to win $250,000 in prize money.

"We hope [she wins] but I think if she does, the money is not her motivation," Crowley said.

"I think it's more about her staying outside the box and taking a chance and digging deep to understand her strengths."

Jane Crowley will sit down with Sarah Jane from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Thursday and talk "adventures, antiques and living life on your terms".
