Every Friday evening throughout May, visitors can relax with a complimentary drink and nibbles while enjoying live music from local artists.
Local winemakers and spirit makers are also holding weekend workshops in the space showcasing their craft.
This weekend (May 15 and 16), The Canberra Distillery will show how spirits are mixed and offer tastings.
Next weekend (May 24 and 25), Tallagandra Hill Winery and Gallagher Wines will focus on pairing cheese and wine.
And a mixology masterclass with Underground Spirits Canberra will be held on May 29-30. Betty Burger fare will be part of this workshop.
Canberra Centre general manager Gary Stewart said it was exciting to launch the first Taste Local event.
"Through this festival, we wanted to be able to give the opportunity to local producers and artists to showcase their talents to our community," he said.
