The 38-year-old Fisher man was arrested at a bus stop in Weston on Sunday morning after allegedly obtaining money using numerous false stories.
Police located the man at 8.45am on Sunday morning following several reports from the community.
He was subsequently charged with obtaining property by deception, possession of stolen property and providing false details.
ACT Policing has issued a statement reminding members of the community that if they are approached by a person seeking money to question the legitimacy of their story.
