The Raiders have won only one of their past eight games - against the bottom-placed Canterbury Bulldogs - with their inability to hold onto a lead becoming a massive issue.
Of those seven losses they've lead in all but one - against Parramatta in round six.
Their second halves don't make for good reading either - they've conceded 161 points in their past eight games, while only managing to score 26.
That's in contrast to their opening 40 minutes, where they lead the for-and-against 100-84.
Fittler said the Green Machine didn't know what to do when they were in front, as well as how to win in the second half.
It's in stark contrast to the defensive resilience the Raiders have built their success over the past two seasons on.
"It's a mess. It's a mess. The getting the leads and the second halves is a real mental problem without a doubt," Fittler said on The Sunday Footy Show.
"The stats are just so overwhelming that they're just not handling as soon as the other team gets in front, or the mindset of what they have to do in the second half to win. They're struggling."

Their struggles were further compounded by prop Corey Horsburgh dislocating his wrist, forcing him off in the 57th minute.
The Raiders will assess the damage on Monday, but the picture painted by NRL Physio Brien Seeney wasn't a pretty one.
"Initial reports of a suspected dislocated wrist for Corey Horsburgh, if confirmed best case would be 1-2 months recovery if minimal ligament damage/no fracture," Seeney tweeted.
"If fractured or surgery is required due to more extensive damage can extend beyond two months."
Raiders winger Bailey Simonsson will go through concussion protocols this week after he was knocked out tackling Joseph Suaalii - although the Raiders have the bye so he has two weeks to be passed fit - while co-captain Elliott Whitehead suffered a slight lats strain, but was expected to be OK.
The Raiders could lose prop Ryan James, who was offered a one-game suspension for grade two contrary conduct for dropping his knee on Roosters enforcer Jared Waerea-Hargreaves.
James risks a two-game ban if he fights the charge and loses.
Josh Papalii will likely return from suspension in the Raiders' next game - against the Brisbane Broncos at Canberra Stadium on June 12 - while Joe Tapine (knee) could also be available.
Raiders leading scorer Jordan Rapana has escaped with a fine for his careless high tackle on Joseph Manu, facing a fine of up to $2250.
Interestingly, Roosters second-rower Nat Butcher escaped sanction for two crusher tackles.
Parramatta great Peter Sterling said the Raiders did have players missing through injury and suspension.
But he felt the players they had available were a lot better than the performances indicated.
On top of Papalii and Tapine, the Raiders also have Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad (neck) ruled out for the season, Jarrod Croker (knee), Semi Valemei (hamstring) and George Williams - who has been released - missing.
Sterling felt there was a lack of leadership.
"Whereas the leaders for the Roosters just took over for them ... I didn't see it from the Raiders," he said.
"They have got some players missing - Klokstad and no George Williams in this one - but the quality in the roster is still better than a lot of other teams."
