A trip to Crookwell just isn't complete without a visit to the Lindner Sock Shop and Factory.
Conveniently located on the main street, you'll find an array of socks for every occasion and weather condition, all made on the premises by 10th generation sock maker Andrew Lindner.
Andrew expertly knits the socks on vintage machinery, mostly using fine merino wool sourced from local growers in the NSW Southern Tablelands renowned for their quality fleece.
Each sock is then individually separated and carefully hand finished, making every purchase of Lindner Socks an investment in quality and craftsmanship.
"It may take us a little longer to make our socks, but we take our time to get them just right," Andrew said.
"Our use of vintage machinery allows us to create a sock that is as close to hand-knitted as possible, ensuring our socks are well-fitted to your foot.
"The knitting process, combined with our use of high-quality materials, ensures our socks provide superior warmth, comfort and durability."
Andrew said the family business is also proud to be certified as "genuinely Australian" and to carry the Australian Made logo on all their products. "As a small regional business, when you buy your socks, accessories and apparel from us, you're not only getting the best possible quality, you're also supporting regional Australia, and our local jobs," he said.
Lindner Socks also stocks a wide range of accessories and apparel, which are available to purchase from the Sock Shop.
These are knitted especially for Lindner Socks in South Australia using fine merino wool sourced from the NSW Southern Tablelands.
The Sock Shop is open from 9am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday and 9.30am to 12.30pm on Saturdays.
You can view the vintage machinery through their recently installed glass door, with the machines in operation most weekdays.
