The three were named on Monday in the Australian Olympic team heading to the delayed Games next month.
Both the Hockeyroos, who have not won a medal since 2000, and the Kookaburras, who last medalled at London 2012, will be looking for a podium finish after their sixth placed finishes in Rio.
For Chalker it will be her third Olympic Games and for Bone it will be her second, as the side heads into the Games ranked fourth in the world.
Tokyo marks the second Olympics for Charter and he said following the No.1 side's result in Brazil, they were hungry to be there at the end in Japan.
"Rio was a disappointment and we have a little bit to get some retribution for," he said.
"We always aim to be there at the end of the tournament, ideally playing for the big prize.
"It's going to be really really strange. The Olympics are usually built upon those interactions with athletes within the village, meeting new people and having the green and gold sea in the crowd and not having that it's going to be really, really different."

However, the Hockeyroos' list is not locked in, with one unnamed player appealing their non-selection in the squad.
It adds to the turbulent last nine months the side has had, with all three captains - including Chalker - stepping down from their leadership role in October before in December two players were axed from the national contract list, with players threatening to strike, and before the pair successfully appealed the decision.
Canberran Hockeyroos head coach Katrina Powell said it was difficult to pick a squad of 16.
"There is a lot of talent in this group. A lot of potential, drive, enthusiasm and passion, so if we can harness all of that in what will be really tough conditions in Tokyo, you never know what can happen," she said.
"Given the matches we've just played against New Zealand and the different combinations on the field in each game, coupled with the team doing well is an indicator of how difficult it was to pick this team."
In the lead-up to the announcement and the Games, and after 446 days without a match, the two Australian sides played a series against New Zealand. The women drew three, and won one of their four matches, wile the men took four wins.
The men kick off their campaign against hosts Japan on July 24, followed by the women's match against Spain on July 25.
