The Brumbies defended their own line for the opening 23 minutes of their 30-5 victory over the Melbourne Rebels in their Super W season opener at Seiffert Oval on Sunday.
Brumbies assistant coach Lachlan Creighton said that was what they'd look to build their season around as they prepare to play the President's XV in Coffs Harbour on Sunday.
After that, they have a date with the powerful Waratahs, who were too strong for the Queensland Reds in their first game of the campaign.
"We certainly take some confidence out of it. Any team that can defend for 23 minutes and not leak any points we take a lot of confidence," Creighton said.
"We talk about resilience, that was one of our main features. That's probably our main building block."

The Brumbies had good news on the injury front, with flyhalf Ella Ryan cleared of any serious injury.
Ryan steered a new-look Brumbies backline around the park with damaging effect as they rattled off 25 unanswered following their opening defensive effort.
She came off late in the game, but should be right to face the President's.
"She's OK. A little bit of a cork. I certainly had my heart in my throat there for a moment, but she's alright," Creighton said.
