Since the new Pfizer hub at the Canberra Airport precinct was announced on Monday, more than 3100 Canberrans have booked in for their jab.

The airport clinic is booked out until July 7 while the Garran centre is fully booked until July 31 and the AstraZeneca hub at Calvary Public Hospital is booked until July 23.

The ACT government announced the awaited clinic on Monday, after they were given supply projections for the vaccine for the rest of the year.

The territory will receive 10,530 Pfizer doses each week in July. It will be an increase of more than 3500 doses each week compared to the 7000 to be received next week.

Almost 75,000 Canberrans have now received at least one shot of the vaccine.

More than 25,000 are fully vaccinated.

The projections, released on Wednesday, show the ACT is set to double the number of Pfizer doses it is allocated by the federal government by the end of August.

Canberra's third COVID-19 vaccination clinic will open next Tuesday and will administer 1500 doses of the Pfizer vaccine for the first three weeks.

That will then increase to 3000 doses weekly.

It has led to a surge in demand for coronavirus tests with more than 730 conducted in the past 24 hours.

ACT government reverted the Weston Creek Walk-in Centre back to a dedicated COVID-19 testing facility from Tuesday to deal with the increased demand for testing.

Health Minister Rachel Stephen-Smith said the situation would be monitored and testing capacity would be surged if needed.
