A fire at an electric scooter battery storage facility on Geelong Street in Fyshwick has been extinguished by an ACT Fire & Rescue crew.

Geelong Street remains closed to traffic about 400 metres from the entrance off Canberra Avenue and people are being asked to avoid the area, as firefighters are monitoring the site over Wednesday night to ensure there is no residual heat.
No surrounding buildings were damaged in the fire.
It was the second time the e-scooter warehouse has caught fire in the past two months, having also burnt on May 31 before firefighters were able to gain control of the blaze.
The Animal Referral Hospital Canberra on Yallourn Street confirmed most of its staff had been evacuated from the veterinary clinic on Wednesday night.
