The singer will start her tour in Canberra on Friday, a city she hasn't performed in since 2019.
The "stripped back" performance will feature Im with her piano; a different experience than her fans are used to.
"I feel I have the most control, I'm the most at home and the most expressive with my music when I'm playing the piano and singing," Im told The Canberra Times.
The Korean-born singer, who made her name as the winner of X-Factor in 2013 and later performed in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2016, was supposed to start touring in Tasmania three weeks ago before shows were rescheduled due to the pandemic.
She said it had been easier to just embrace opportunities as they came, rather than rely too much on planning.
"I take it more one day at a time at the moment, you can't really plan too far ahead," she said.
In the meantime, Im has been making good use of her time in lockdown, recording her sixth album which she hopes will drop in October.
Her latest single, Lonely Cactus, is a "quirky but meaningful" song she hoped would resonate after a turbulent 18 months.
"It's about feeling lonely, but also really prickly towards other people," she said.
