The Canberra Times published CCTV footage in early June, revealing the 23-year-old had allegedly punched another man at Kokomo's late on May 30.

It is understood the other man, whose lawyers have served Scott with legal documents indicating an intention to sue, suffered a broken nose in the clash.

Scott was stood down by the Raiders over the incident and has not returned to the field since despite having served a three-match ban, which was accompanied by a $15,000 fine for bringing the NRL into disrepute.

Police received a formal complaint from Scott's alleged victim several weeks after the incident, prompting an investigation.

On Friday, ACT Policing confirmed it had charged a 23-year-old O'Connor man over the alleged assault of a 31-year-old at a city nightclub.

Scott is due to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on August 30.

The Raiders have been contacted for comment.

Scott, who joined the club from the Melbourne Storm last year, faces an uncertain future despite being under contract in Canberra until the end of 2023.

He was living in Sydney while he was stood down, but returned to the national capital last month to complete a period of isolation and return to training at Raiders headquarters.

He is considered unlikely to join his top grade teammates in their Queensland bubble this year, while a potential loan move to the Wests Tigers fell through when the joint venture's interest in him cooled after just 24 hours.
