Canberra's police have cracked down on breaches of the territory's public health orders, issuing eight infringements on Sunday.

It was the highest number of infringements issued in one day in Canberra.
Of the infringements, six related to a residential construction site in Taylor. The ACT's chief police officer said officers would be looking closely at construction sites.
"We will be doing substantial workplace compliance with WorkSafe ACT in relation to construction sites across the territory to ensure people actually adhere to the health directions and stay at home," Deputy Commissioner Neil Gaughan said.
It followed a warning from WorkSafe ACT on Sunday, which said those flouting the rules will face consequences.

Under the ACT's lockdown, construction can only take place if it is an emergency or to maintain safety and security.
The territory's lockdown has been extended by a further two weeks to September 2.
ACT Chief Minister Barr said further details of the lockdown extension would be provided on Tuesday. It is unclear if rules for construction will be relaxed.
Deputy Commissioner Gaughan said police received 140 complaints from members of the public about compliance on Sunday.
He also said police stopped 1000 cars in the ACT on Sunday as part of compliance activity.
