The empty floor level shop front in the Canberra Centre, which used to hold Lincraft, will soon have the designer furniture brand Coco Republic.
Anthony Spon-Smith, the creative director and co-owner of Coco Republic, said he wanted furniture shopping to be a creative experience for customers.
"At Coco Republic, we believe building a home is a journey not a destination, and we aim to inspire our clients with our exciting and collaborative showroom environments featuring world-class furniture and homewares," Mr Spon-Smith said.
"We think Canberra is one of Australia's most exciting cities, poised for huge growth, and we are looking forward to growing with Canberra."
The unique addition is the L'Americano Cafe, with design inspiration based on the novel and better known movie, The Talented Mr Ripley, which will include an American inspired bar and Italian style menu.
The shop includes more than 3000 designer products such as homewares, outdoor and indoor furniture, rugs and lighting collections.
The space will cover 1835 square metres where shoppers from Bunda Street can explore.
It is hoped the showroom with be able to open in October, depending on coronavirus restrictions.
