Vine won a professional contract with Alpecin-Fenix for 2021 through the Zwift Academy and his efforts at the Vuelta a Espana saw him rewarded with a two-year contract extension.
Now Canberra's Vikings Cycling Club sits atop the AusCycling National Club Cycling Esports series after the opening round on Wednesday night.
They earned 280 points to jump straight to the top of the ladder, ahead of last season's winner and runner-up - Waratah Masters accumulated 223 points, while eRandwick sit third with 200.
Adding to the ACT's strong start, Canberra Cycling Club's fourth on 183.
It's the first time the Canberra clubs have competed in the esport series, having missed the inaugural one earlier this year.
Round two of the six-round series will take place next Wednesday, again using the Zwift online cycling platform.
