Diversity ACT, a support service and local charity, is hoping to raise enough from the day to cover its annual insurance bill.
Corporate donors are also set to match general donations, doubling the impact of each dollar given.

Diversity ACT Community Services president Megan Watts said any money received would supplement its usual community event fundraising such as sausage sizzles.
It hopes to raise $4000 to cover its annual insurance bill
"Canberra is a giving and caring community that loves and supports its LGBTIAQ+ people. That was obvious from the vote in the equal marriage plebiscite," Ms Watts said.
"GiveOUT Day is an opportunity for Canberrans to turn some of that love into financial support.

"There's no limit on what you can donate - every dollar that is donated goes straight to helping the LGBTIQ+ community in Canberra."
Diversity ACT Community Services is an LGBTIAQ+ support service and registered charity, located in Kambah.
The organisation is community-based and volunteer-run, providing a service hub, social worker, support networks, groups and community resources to assist the LGBTIAQ+ community of south Canberra and the broader ACT region.
