A mountain biker had to be carried down 800 metres of steep terrain over a four-hour period after he crashed at Mount Majura on Saturday afternoon.
Thirteen crew members from the ACT Ambulance Service, ACT Fire and Rescue and SouthCare were called to a remote area of the mountain about 12.15pm.
They worked to stabilise the male rider before he was carried down on a stretcher as windy conditions prevented him from being airlifted.
He was taken to Canberra Hospital in a stable condition.
An ACT Emergency Services Agency spokeswoman said the patient was believed to be a young adult and was riding alone at the time of the crash.
She had not received further information about injuries and the site has since been cleared.
