The home at 410 Bugden Avenue had been on the market in early 2019 for $885,000 when a fire tore through the two-storey house.

At the time ACT Fire and Rescue deemed the fire not suspicious.

The damaged property then sold for $460,000 in December 2019, offering buyers an opportunity to rebuild on the elevated, 686 square metre parcel of land.

A fully renovated and extended four-bedroom home now stands on the site, with large windows to take in the views over south Canberra.

The lower level includes split-level living spaces, an expansive kitchen, three bedrooms and two bathrooms, while the main bedroom upstairs features an en suite and private balcony.

The home also includes a heated swimming pool and deck at the front, plus outdoor entertaining spaces at the rear.

The sale marks the second highest price for a house in Fadden.

The suburb record was also set over the weekend when 74 Appel Crescent, Fadden sold at auction for $1,635,000.

Selling agent Dan Cooper of LJ Hooker Tuggeranong said there were six registered bidders for the on-site auction, with four parties engaging in "spirited bidding" right through to the end.

A couple living in Sydney made the final bid, despite never having set foot inside the home.

"They're from Canberra originally but they've been living in Sydney for the last 15 years," Mr Cooper said.

"When they lived in Canberra they lived in the same street, in Appel Crescent. They love that location so they've bought back in that same street."

Located in the Tuggeranong district, Fadden has become a highly sought-after suburb in recent years.

"It's such a good location and I think people are starting to realise that the northern end of Tuggeranong is so close to everywhere, all the traditional parts of Canberra," Mr Cooper said.

"And really, what you're getting in [Fadden] is larger homes, larger blocks, good views.

"Especially Appel Crescent, it's just this beautiful, quiet street. There's the reserve on one side and houses on the other, so it's a good spot and the views are just exceptional."

According to CoreLogic's latest data, the median sale price for a house in Fadden was $900,000 in July.
