Jaiden Dale Gardner, 26, was granted ACT Supreme Court bail in June before being arrested on October 21 after he and two other Canberra residents were allegedly in an Audi that hit a police officer on the Monaro Highway.
Gardner, of Yarralumla, appeared via video link in the supreme court on Wednesday when Crown prosecutor Patrick Dixon applied for the accused's bail to be revoked.
Gardner's lawyer, Johnathon Cooper, did not oppose the application and Acting Justice Verity McWilliam granted it.
The Crown's alleged facts tendered to the court state that in March last year at the Alexander Maconochie Centre, an inmate was moved into the same unit as Gardner and co-accused, Trinity Cook.
Within two hours of the move, Gardner and Cook allegedly used a TV to hit their fellow inmate over the head, causing him to lose consciousness.
Gardner then allegedly poured a jug of boiling water over the inmate, who suffered third-degree burns to 13 per cent of his body.
He was airlifted to a specialist burns unit in Concord, NSW, for treatment and skin grafts.
Gardner and Cook face the charges of intentionally and recklessly inflicting grievous bodily harm and will stand trial later this year.

In relation to the alleged hit and run, Gardner and two other co-accused appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court on October 21 where the co-accused were extradited to NSW.
Extradition regarding Gardner was not granted because of his ACT trial.
Gardner has not pleaded to two counts of stealing a car and one count each of police pursuit, using an offensive weapon in company to prevent detention and failing to stop to help the officer.
Police documents tendered to the magistrates court allege the offending happened on August 30 on the Monaro Highway at Nimmitabel.
It came after police pursued a stolen Toyota LandCruiser allegedly driven by Gardner, who then fled to the Audi.
A NSW Police officer stood on the road in a bid to stop the Audi when it hit him and carried him on the bonnet for about 50 metres.
Another officer saw him "being thrown from the vehicle, landing harshly on the roadway, hitting his head and sustaining serious injuries".
The driver allegedly did not stop and sped towards Cooma.
Monaro Police District Commander Superintendent John Klepczarek said the police officer was left "lifeless".
