Unlike some clubs, the Green Machine only has three players they need to tie down longer term with Ryan Sutton, Corey Harawira-Naera and Corey Horsburgh all contracted until the end 2022.

That means they're free to sign with other NRL clubs come Monday.

But Raiders coach Ricky Stuart was keen to ensure they stayed in lime green.

"They're well and truly in the plans of the future of this club," he said.

Former Raiders co-captain Josh Hodgson is also entering the final year of his deal with the Green Machine, but they won't look to re-sign him.

He's in negotiations with the Wests Tigers about a possible move next year, having been given permission to explore his options to secure his future.

But negotiations have stalled, with the Raiders unwilling to pay too much of Hodgson's salary for 2022 given they're more than happy for him to see out his contract.

If he does go, Canberra would need to secure a replacement, with Wests hooker Jacob Liddle one option they'd try to lure down the Hume Highway.

Liddle's contracted until the end of 2023.

The Raiders have already held initial talks with Sutton's management to extend the prop's time in lime green.

He's played 58 NRL games in his first three seasons in Canberra since joining the club from English Super League club Wigan.

Sutton's quickly established himself as a key member of the Raiders' forward pack and was second at the club for runs, and third for run metres and tackles this year.

Harawira-Naera also impressed in 2021, especially playing in the second row in the first half of the season.

He was second at the Green Machine for offloads, but also for penalties conceded.

The 26-year-old's one of a number of versatile forwards in the Raiders pack who can play either through the middle or on an edge - much like new Canberra signing Adam Elliott, who's moving to the ACT on a one-year deal.

They played together at the Canterbury Bulldogs in 2019.

Horsburgh's recovering from a shoulder reconstruction and looking to put a terrible run of injuries behind him.
