Easing of restrictions could be fast-tracked
ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr's emergency cabinet will meet on Monday afternoon to consider health advice on bringing forward the date to further ease restrictions.
Restrictions set to ease on November 26 would see face masks only required indoors in high-risk settings, unlimited visitors for household and outdoor gatherings as well as business capacity limits set at one person per two square metres indoors and outdoors.
The cabinet meeting will include a briefing from chief health officer Dr Kerryn Coleman.
School exposures
A list of schools affected by the virus has grown to 12, including Canberra Girls Grammar School, St Clare's College and Lanyon High School.
Canberra Girls Grammar will be closed on Monday after exposures at the school and boarding house last week.
Certain students at Wanniassa junior and senior campuses will be kept home as well, after the cluster associated with the school has reached 39.
Erindale College will also be closed on Monday, while other affected schools include: Namadgi School, St Anthony's Parish Primary School, Gordon Primary School, Wanniassa School, Ainslie School, Melrose High School, Orana Steiner School, Erindale College and Holy Family School.
"There is still contact tracing occurring, but there is only one school that's had infections contracted in the actual school," Education Minister Yvette Berry told ABC, referring to the Wanniassa cluster.
Around Australia
NSW has recorded 187 new COVID-19 cases and seven deaths in the 24 hours to 8pm on Sunday.
Across the state 93.9 per cent of the population aged over 16 years have been vaccinated with their first dose, while 89.8 per cent are fully vaccinated.
There are 264 COVID-19 patients in hospital with 48 in ICU.
Victoria recorded 1126 new cases, while five people in the state died.
There are 556 Victorians hospitalised, 91 in intensive care and 54 requiring ventilation.
Eighty-four per cent of the state's population aged over 16 is fully vaccinated.
Scott Morrison has admitted more work is needed to increase Indigenous COVID-19 vaccine rates, as the national booster rollout formally begins.
While the national rate for fully-vaccinated over 16s has passed 80 per cent, immunisation rates among Indigenous communities are lagging.
The prime minister said there was still a long way to go to bridge the vaccination gap.
