The Canberran driver got his first go-kart in 2005 and trained for two years, before he took off under his first green flag at nine.
Little did he know then he would find himself racing in Australia's Super 2 event in 2022, at a time when the capital bids to host its first Supercars event since 2002.
As he is on the cusp of reaching his V8 dream with his new signing, the 24-year-old is hopeful he will peak in time for a Supercars homecoming to Canberra.
Three entrepreneurs are behind the bid to reignite the sport with a race at Exhibition Park, potentially as early as 2023, which would mark a return to the ACT for the first time in 21 years.
"If it happens, it would be a pretty special feeling being able to race in front of a home crowd. So you never know. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that it does happen," Hill said.
"My goal is to, obviously, use the driving and the exposure from Super 2 to try and get myself into the Bathurst 1000. And then hopefully the main Supercars series in the future."

Hill signed a deal with one of the most successful teams on the racing circuit - Triple Eight Race Engineering - under Supercar drivers Jamie Whincup and Shane van Gisbergen.
The 2015 Formula Ford championship winner signed-on with the team's Super 2 team on Tuesday, in a deal considered the "gateway to the Supercars".
Six of the Super 2 events trail the Supercars circuit each year, offering Hill track-side access to Whincup and van Gisbergen's experience.
"It's pretty cool to, I guess, sign for a team, that for a long time, I watched on the telly and went 'wow, they're definitely the best in the business'," he said.
"I'm really looking forward to working with them. It's going to be invaluable being able to have access to those guys who have been legends of the sport. Jamie's a seven time champion and Shane's currently leading the championship. So being able to pick those guys brains will only help me."
Hill has been dominant in the Porsche Carrera Cup, leading the series and winning six races in three rounds this year.
The final three events were postponed due to COVID but are set to get back underway in Bathurst on November 30, before two more rounds at South Australia's The Bend in December.
"I've definitely got a really strong championship lead at the moment," Hill said.
"So for me, it's about just continuing to get strong results and to try and wrap the championship up."
