The Parramatta Eels have reportedly signed the centre on a one-year-deal almost three months after the Green Machine showed him the door, but those reports could be a little premature.
Canberra's board tore up his contract with more than two years remaining after he was allegedly involved in a fight at Civic nightclub Kokomo's on May 30.
He's still fighting an assault occasioning actual bodily harm charge in the ACT Magistrates Court.
The 24-year-old's case was in court on Monday and was set to return again on November 22.
He's pleaded not guilty and will fight the charge.
7News reported Scott has been given a chance to get his career back on track with a contract for the 2022 NRL season.
Parramatta declined to comment, but it's believed they've held preliminary talks with Scott - although there's a long way to go before anything's finalised.
The Eels still need to do their due diligence on Scott and the NRL integrity unit might also need to be involved before any contract can be registered.
Scott's manager Sam Ayoub didn't return The Canberra Times' calls.
Scott played just 23 NRL games for the Raiders across two seasons, on top of the 48 he played for the Melbourne Storm.
But his time in Canberra was instantly embroiled in controversy after he was assaulted by NSW Police having fallen asleep under a tree in Moore Park during his first pre-season with the club.
That case was thrown out of court because of the way the police treated him - handcuffing him while he was asleep and then pepper spraying him.
MORE RAIDERS NEWS
He'd been out celebrating Australia Day with Raiders teammates in Sydney.
The Raiders stood by him through that ordeal, but the club lost patience with him after he was allegedly involved in a nightclub fight this year.
The Canberra Times revealed CCTV footage from Kokomo's that appeared to show Scott punching another man.
It is understood that man suffered a broken nose.
Scott has moved back to Sydney since the Raiders released him and has reportedly been working as a labourer.
Meanwhile, the Raiders look set to face the Sydney Roosters and the Manly Sea Eagles in their 2022 pre-season trials.
Originally they were due to play Wests Tigers and the Roosters, but that's been changed with the games still at Parramatta Stadium and the Central Coast on February 18 and 25 respectively.
Raiders coach Ricky Stuart will likely field a full-strength side for one of those games and give fringe players and under-21s a run in the other.
