A 24 year-old man has been arrested after he was allegedly found driving a stolen vehicle, which contained a large quantity of methylamphetamine and prohibited firearms on Wednesday.
The Palmerston man was reportedly observed driving a white SUV away from police at speed in Reid at 10.30pm.
Police arrested the man after checks revealed the vehicle was unregistered and had been fitted with number plates belonging to another vehicle.
Subsequent searches located a substance suspected of being methylamphetamine with an estimated street value of more than $11,000, ammunition and two modified firearms, according to police.

The white SUV, which was later confirmed as a stolen vehicle, was seized for further investigation and searches.
Police say they anticipate further charges will be laid once these searches have been conducted.
The man, who was on bail, as expected to face the ACT Magistrates Court on Thursday, charged with trafficking in a controlled drug, possession of ammunition, providing false details to police, and two counts of unauthorised possession of a prohibited firearm.
