There are five people hospitalised with the virus, two of whom are in intensive care, with one requiring ventilation.

The new cases bring the active total to 184, while the number of cases associated with this outbreak now stands at 1929.

There were 1624 negative tests received in the 24 hours to 9am Monday.

Meantime, the percentage of the eligible population who are now fully vaccinated has reached 97.2 per cent.

Visitor restrictions at hospitals around Canberra eased from 8am on Monday, allowing two visitors per patient per day within visitation hours.

The rules will be in place in community health centres and walk-in centres.

"The decision to restrict visitors to our health facilities is always a difficult one, but it ensures we can protect the health and safety of everyone," ACT Health said in a statement.

"This is especially necessary for our most vulnerable, particularly patients whose health is already compromised."

NSW has recorded 180 new COVID-19 cases and one death in the 24 hours to 8pm Sunday.

There are 202 COVID-19 patients in hospital, with 30 in ICU.

The state's population aged 16 years and over is now 91.8 per cent fully vaccinated, while 94.4 per cent have had their first COVID-19 vaccine shot.

Those aged between 12 and 15 years are 75.4 per cent fully vaccinated, while 81 per cent have had their first dose.

Yesterday 45,405 tests were conducted which was down on the previous day's total of 55,330.

Meantime, Victoria saw 1029 new cases of the virus, with three deaths.

There are 316 Victorians in hospital, with 44 people in intensive care and actively infected while 54 have been cleared. Twenty-three are on a ventilator.

South Australia and the Northern Territory have eased COVID-19 restrictions. The NT outbreak has continued to grow.
