ANU scholarship holder Turner combined with Matilda Lugg (61) to steer her side to 6-281, and Reakes played a lone hand in the run chase for the visitors.

The Meteors skipper had scored 140 of her side's 202 runs at the time of her dismissal. She left the crease with Tuggeranong-Weston Creek Molonglo 80 runs from victory with 11 overs remaining.

The task would prove too difficult as Tuggeranong-Weston Creek Molonglo lost five wickets for 23 runs to finish on 9-225 in reply.

Meanwhile, a Carly-Leeson inspired Eastlake-Queanbeyan opened their campaign with a six-wicket win over Ginninderra-North Canberra Gungahlin at Kippax Oval.

Rebecca Carter had earlier fallen four runs shy of posting the competition's maiden ton, scoring 96 at the top of the order for Ginninderra-Norths.

Carter's 112-ball knock was complemented by Olivia Porter's 43, but no other batter could pass six runs as the hosts were bundled out for 175.

Eastlake-Queanbeyan all-rounder Leeson claimed 3-30 from 10 overs before backing up with an unbeaten 55 to guide the visitors home with 8.1 overs to spare.
