Connor John Manns, 23, appeared via phone in the ACT Magistrates Court on Friday when that fresh charge and three others - firing a gun to endanger life, driving a car without consent and possessing a number plate to deceive - were read out to him.

He is accused of driving a stolen car when he shot towards another man about 4.30am on November 21.

Mr Manns has not pleaded to those charges.

In a statement, ACT Policing accuses Mr Manns of firing a gun "several times" at a man at the intersection of Whitrod Avenue and Plimsoll Drive.

"A crime scene was established and during a search of the area, police located evidence of a shooting," the statement reads.

About 5.30pm the same day, police executed a search warrant on a residence in O'Connor where they arrested Mr Manns, who was already on bail for previous charges.

Mr Manns also faces one count each of joint commission aggravated robbery, joint commission theft, using a carriage service to threaten serious harm and using a carriage service to menace.

In court, solicitor Tom Taylor for Mr Manns said his client had pleaded not guilty to the threat and menace charges.

The court heard the prosecution was also expected to lay additional related charges.

Mr Taylor said the robbery and theft charges were agreed by consent to be adjourned until December 17.

"The purpose for the adjournment is for the prosecution to serve additional evidence on Mr Manns then likely to set a hearing date in the magistrates court some time next year," he said.

Mr Taylor asked for adjournment of the fresh charges to take instructions and to allow the brief of evidence to be completed.

Magistrate James Lawton adjourned the fresh charges, as well as the robbery and theft ones, to February 1.

The court heard the allegedly stolen car was a Volkswagen Golf.

Mr Manns has been remanded in custody since November 22 and did not apply for bail on Friday.
