It will be replaced by a new drive-through site in Mitchell, which will open on Saturday, December 18.
The new Mitchell testing clinic will be located at 2 Tooth Street, with access from Dacre Street. It will be open from 8am to 10pm, seven days a week.
MORE COVID NEWS:
Health Minister Rachel Stephen-Smith said this change had been made to enable EPIC to facilitate bookings made for events at the venue.
"The EPIC clinic has been the backbone of our testing network since it first began operating in March 2020 and has performed nearly 250,000 tests," she said.
"However, as we look forward to a COVID-normal summer thanks to our world-leading vaccination rates, it's time for EPIC to return to hosting events.
"I'd like to thank all the staff at EPIC for the key role they have played in keeping our community safe during the pandemic."
IN OTHER NEWS:
There are also ACT government testing sites in Garran, Kambah and Nicholls.
Ms Stephen-Smith said the new site will be smaller than EPIC.
"While the Mitchell site is smaller than EPIC, it is just one in a network of testing clinics available across the ACT. We will ensure there is ample capacity across our testing clinics over the holiday period," she said.
"COVID-19 isn't taking a holiday."
Testing clinics open over Christmas:
- Mitchell COVID-19 Drive Through Testing Centre - 8am-10pm, seven days a week (including public holidays)
- Garran COVID-19 Testing Centre - 7am-9pm, seven days a week (including public holidays)
- Kambah COVID-19 Drive Through Testing Centre - 8am-4pm, seven days a week (8am-12pm on public holidays)
The Nicholls COVID-19 testing centre will be closed from December 25, 2021 to January 3, 2022.
