Netball ACT is poised to expand its State League to include an under 17 division in a move designed to strengthen its pathway for emerging talent in the region.
The new division becomes the fifth competition to fall under the State League banner alongside division one, men's league, division two and the 19&U division.

"Netball ACT and the State League working group consider this an important step to improve the netball pathway in Canberra and surrounding regions," Netball ACT chief executive Matthew Battams said.
"This will not only provide opportunities for athletes, but importantly it will provide opportunities for coaches, umpires and bench officials.
"The State League is already a competitive and strong competition. The inclusion of the 17&U division will provide even greater opportunities for our netball community."
Netball ACT officials will reveal details regarding the competition structure in the new year.
