Canberra is ending 2021 on a sunny note, with clear and sunny skies expected to shine for the rest of the year.
Jiwon Park, meteorologist at the Bureau of Meterology, said warm temperatures are expected to tide the territory over until the weekend.

"Due to the influence of a slow-moving high-pressure system over the bite ... making its way to the Tasman Sea during the course of the week to the later part of this week, Canberra should see a sunny period throughout the week, with a warming trend towards the weekend," he said.
He said the top temperature for Wednesday was expected to be 25 degrees, with similar sunny weather conditions forecast for Thursday.
"By Friday, the temperatures should be rising up to the low 30s, and then Saturday and Sunday, a little bit more cloudy but mostly sunny days," Mr Park said.
The meteorologist said the New Year's weekend was expected to be quite warm, with a maximum of about 32 degrees forecast on both Saturday and Sunday.
"There is also low-intensity heatwave conditions developing across the southern and the western part of NSW [that weekend]," he said.
"That translates into increasing heat in Canberra regions, but Canberra will probably be at the edge of the low-intensity region."
Mr Park said similar warm weather conditions should prevail for the first few days of 2022, potentially indicating a happier year than the two preceding it.
