Built in late 1970s, the three-bedroom home is one of several in a row on Hodgson Place crafted by Canberra designer-builder Gary Willemsen.

Selling agent Scott Crossman from One Agency said it was rare to find a Willemsen design with its original features remaining.

Floor-to-ceiling windows with cedar frames, high ceilings and intriguing angles are among the design hallmarks.

"It makes [the homes] very unusual and something that is very sought-after on the basis that they are the Willemsen design and also in this particular instance, it's a separate title as well," Mr Crossman said.

The bedrooms and living spaces are all located on the ground floor, while a spiral staircase leads to a mezzanine study space and extra storage. The home also features passive solar design, where the sun's exposure is used to heat and cool the space.

The property at 1 Hodgson Place, Pearce is scheduled for auction on January 28 and already there's been strong interest from local buyers.

"I've had a lot of inquiry on the property, there's no doubt about that, as we often get with these sorts of properties when they first hit the market," Mr Crossman said.

He said he'd had some inquiries from parents wanting to buy the home as an investment to rent to their children, while others were attracted to the location for its proximity to schools.

"I think it's going to appeal to people that want to establish themselves into a good, solid area," Mr Crossman said.

Having only been on the market for less than a week, Mr Crossman said an accurate price guide had yet to be determined. However, based on similar sales in the area, he estimated buyer feedback may be around mid-$800,000 to $900,000.

The median price for houses in Pearce was $1,145,000 in September 2021, CoreLogic data showed.

The Canberra property market has welcomed an influx of new listings in the first few weeks of 2022.

While auctions were not back in full swing, a handful of homes were due to go under the hammer over the weekend across the region.

A four-bedroom house at 14 Robson Street, Garran was among the Saturday line-up, as was a three-bedroom townhouse at 8/39 Majura Avenue, Dickson.
