Blaney-Brown's 53 not out helped Eastlake chase down Queanbeyan's 132 at Kingston Oval in the afternoon, following his late cameo of 24 not out in a rain-shortened win over Western District.

"He's starting to learn his game a bit better. Today we wanted him to be brave and take the game on like all our batsmen did and he was able to execute two games in a row," Tett said.

"We've had a pretty indifferent start to the year with COVID and weather and our results didn't go our way. It's a good day and two good performances, but it doesn't make a good season."

Eastlake was missing three top-grade players on Saturday due to COVID-19. Three players also withdrew last week after contracting the virus.

The six-wicket loss to Eastlake capped an up-and-down day for Queanbeyan, who proved too strong for ANU in their morning fixture.

Its attention now switches to Sunday's one-day semi-final against Ginninderra, for which it will be without key bowler Esam Rahman, who is battling a hamstring injury.

Veteran all-rounder Mark Higgs is also unavailable for the clash.

"We're pretty confident the guys coming in are doing a good job as well, we've probably got a good squad of about 14 there," Queanbeyan captain Mark Solway said.

"We're playing some good cricket at the moment too so we're probably going in pretty well."

Solway challenged his side to rediscover its consistency after the Eastlake loss.

"We were good in patches but we need to string out a whole performance," Solway said.

"With the stick we did well for a while, set the platform and then just ended up collapsing a little bit. It was similar with the ball, too."
