Active coronavirus cases in Tasmania have risen for a 15th day in a row, despite the island state recording a dip in daily new infections.

Wednesday's figure of 868 follows 957 fresh infections on Tuesday, the island state's highest count since January 19.
There are 5076 documented active cases statewide - the figure has been rising from 3033 on February 15.
As of Monday, around 1600 of the active cases are school-aged children, Education Minister Roger Jaensch told state parliament.
"The very good news is, thankfully, those cases are generally experiencing very mild systems," he said.
"These children are at home. They have been tested at home. More than two-thirds are continuing to learn at home as well.
"Our latest advice is there are no school-aged children being treated in hospital."
There are 12 people with COVID-19 in hospital, with nine of those being treated specifically for virus symptoms. Two patients are in intensive care.
Tasmania has recorded 12 virus deaths since reopening borders on December 15 and a total of 25 since the beginning of the pandemic.
