William McDonald Reed died on July 16, 2021, at the Royal Hobart Hospital from an intracerebral haemorrhage - a type of stroke involving a blood vessel rupturing and bleeding inside the brain.
Coroner Simon Cooper released his report into the matter on Friday afternoon.
He said the intracerebral haemorrhage had been caused by vaccine-induced prothrombotic immune thrombocytopenia (VIPIT).
Mr Cooper said Mr Reed had been on holiday on the East Coast of Tasmania with his family when he collapsed suddenly on July 13.
He said Mr Reed had experienced a four-day headache in the lead up to his collapse, which occurred about two weeks after he received the AstraZeneca vaccination.
Mr Reed was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital, where he was found to have sustained an intracerebral haemorrhage, abnormal blood clotting and appearances consistent with VIPIT.
"Despite neurosurgical intervention, Mr Reed did not recover and died on 16 July 2021," Mr Cooper said.
"Several of his organs were donated pursuant to the Human Tissue Act 1985."
The coroner said VIPIT was a "rare but recognised" complication of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
Mr Reed's death was investigated by forensic pathologist Dr Andrew Reid, who said he believed the death was due to the vaccine.
Dr Reid's testing was peer-reviewed by specialist anatomical pathologists Dr Eileen Long and Dr John McArdle, as well as senior forensic pathologists Dr Christopher Lawrence and Dr Donald Ritchey.
All confirmed Dr Reid's opinion, the coroner report read.
Mr Cooper said he was satisfied, based on the evidence, that an adverse reaction to the vaccine had killed Mr Reed.
He said Mr Reed's wife had raised a number of issues to do with a lack of information on the risks and side effects of the AstraZeneca vaccine.
However, Mr Cooper said he believed there had been sufficient information at the time and there did not make any comments or recommendations.
