The ACT reported 1122 new infections in the latest reporting period as the total number of cases hits 71,683. Previously, 1278 daily infections were recorded for the territory.
There were 42 people in Canberra hospitals with COVID in the 24 hours to 8pm on Thursday, including three people in intensive care and none under ventilation. Previously, the ACT recorded the same number of hospitalisations, with three people in the ICU.
The ACT now has 6522 active cases of coronavirus, up from the 5927 reported on Thursday. Of the new cases, 625 were reported through PCR tests and 497 via rapid tests.
Due to system delays ACT Health has not released up to date vaccination data on Friday.

Fourth COVID-19 vaccination dose approved
Vulnerable and older Australians will soon be able to get a fourth COVID-19 vaccine dose.
The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation has recommended a second booster be administered for Australians over 65, Indigenous Australians over 50, those in disability care and those who are immunocompromised over the age of 16.
The doses will be rolled out to those groups from April 4 at pharmacies, GPs and vaccine clinics.
It is recommended the second booster be given to those groups between four and six months after the first booster.

NSW has recorded 23,702 new COVID-19 cases and seven deaths in the 24 hours to 4pm.
On Thursday the state reported 24,803 new infections and eight lives lost.
There are 1182 COVID-19 patients in hospital, with 43 in ICU.
Hospitalisation numbers are up on yesterday, when 1180 patients were being cared for, while ICU remains steady at 43.
Of the new cases, 13,514 came from positive rapid antigen tests while 10,188 came from PCR testing.
Victoria has reported 9244 new cases and nine deaths. Hospital admissions are up with 253 recorded overnight, compared to 244 in the previous reporting period. There are nineteen people in ICU.
