Community batteries would be installed in Casey, Dickson and Fadden if Labor is elected at the upcoming federal election.
Federal opposition spokesman for climate change Chris Bowen is announcing the new batteries in Canberra on Monday, along with local members Andrew Leigh, Alicia Payne and David Smith.
Federal Labor would partner with the ACT government to deliver the projects. The three locations were also chosen after consultation with the ACT government.
Chief Minister Andrew Barr welcomed the announcement from federal Labor and also pointed to the ACT government's policy.
"I welcome the announcement that an Albanese Labor government will invest in the energy infrastructure of the future here in the ACT," Mr Barr said.
"The ACT government has committed to delivering at least 250 MW 'large-scale' battery storage.
MORE FEDERAL POLITICS NEWS:
"This will be distributed across the ACT, including the use of community scale battery storage solutions to support a distribution network with an increasing penetration of solar PV.
"This commitment demonstrates the ability to deliver a net zero future can be achieved if there is a willingness to invest by governments."
In last year's budget, the ACT government allocated $100 million over five years to deliver a network of large batteries in the territory with a capacity of at least 250 megawatts. This was a commitment from Labor at the 2020 ACT election.
