The ACT reported 1139 new infections to 8pm on Tuesday with 328 of those people aged between 25 to 39. This takes the territory's pandemic case tally to 76,537. A total of 1063 new cases were reported the day before.

There were 48 people in Canberra hospitals with COVID in the 24 hours to 8pm on Tuesday, including five people in intensive care and one under ventilation.
This follows a six-week peak of hospitalisations with 49 people requiring additional care to 8pm Monday.
New data released by ACT Health shows the number of new daily infections per age group:
- 0 - 4 years: 64
- 5 - 11 years: 124
- 12 - 17 years: 132
- 18 - 24 years: 135
- 25 - 39 years: 328
- 40 - 49 years: 171
- 50- 64 years: 130
- 65 years+: 55
ACT Health has released the age groups of new cases for the first time, after the directorate agreed to release more information on COVID-19 patients following explosive revelations that officials blocked the release of important information.
The Canberra Times revealed last week health officials misled the public over why they had blocked the release of COVID-19 patient comorbidity data despite knowing it was "an important part of the picture".
A more detailed weekly epidemiological report on the vaccination status of hospitalised cases is also expected at the end of the week.
Meanwhile, COVID-19 infections in schools have remained steady with 1501 cases recorded in 126 schools last week. The previous week there were 1531 infections across ACT public and private schools.
The ACT now has 5844 active cases of coronavirus, down from the 5972 reported on Tuesday. Of the new cases, 625 were reported through PCR tests and 514 via rapid tests.
The BA.2 Omicron sub-lineage is likely the most dominant strain in the territory. The ACT's weekly epidemiological report said the sub-lineage was identified as 82 per cent of all sequenced cases in the territory last week.

The first dose vaccination rate for children aged five to 11 has hit 80.1 per cent as of Tuesday.
Meanwhile, fully vaccinated people aged over five make up 97.9 per cent of the ACT population with 72.9 triple vaxxed.

NSW has recorded 25,235 new COVID-19 cases and 15 deaths in the 24 hours to 4pm.
There are 1301 COVID-19 patients in hospital, with 46 in ICU.
Hospitalisation numbers are up on yesterday, when 1283 patients were being cared for with 53 in ICU.
Of the new cases, 15,365 came from positive rapid antigen tests while 9870 came from PCR testing.
Another Victorian government minister has tested positive to COVID-19 and will isolate for seven days, joining Premier Daniel Andrews in being confined to home with the virus.
The state reported 11,749 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday and seven deaths.
There are 280 people in the state's hospitals including 18 in ICU and five on ventilators.
Industry, Tourism and Sport Minister Martin Pakula said he returned a positive from a rapid antigen test on Wednesday morning.
Opposition Leader Matthew Guy is also isolating after his nine-year-old son caught the virus on Tuesday.
