Jason William Pye, 44, committed the string of offences between December and March, ACT Magistrates Court documents state.
This included targeting a Hawker liquor store three times when he placed a total of five bottles down his pants on two occasions.
In one instance, the offender "was observed on CCTV removing two bottles of alcohol and secreting them down the front of his pants".
The Watson man also targeted liquor stores in Phillip, where he placed bottles in a green shopping bag, and Gungahlin.
Pye, who is listed in court documents as unemployed, also stole vacuums and associated products - totalling about $3500 from retailers in Greenway and Fyshwick - and just over $1500 worth of tools from stores in north and south Canberra.
MORE COURT AND CRIME NEWS
He was arrested on March 15 after police executed a search warrant at a Macquarie residence.
Pye appeared via phone in the ACT Magistrates Court on Wednesday when he entered guilty pleas to 10 counts of joint commission of minor theft.
He asked to be sentenced by the Galambany Court and will face that court in May for an assessment.
Pye's co-defendant, Linda Jane Aylott, in her mid 50s, also fronted court briefly on Wednesday charged with eight counts of the same charge as Pye.
She also faces four counts of minor theft and one each of making off without payment and using an unregistered vehicle.
She has not pleaded and had her case adjourned to April 28.
