1. National Folk Festival
After a two-year hiatus the National Folk Festival is making a comeback. The festival will feature live music from more than 200 performers, as well as a children's festival, themed bars, food and market stalls, roving entertainment and an engaging, multi-discipline arts program. With Katie Noonan at the helm as creative director, the line-up includes Yothu Yindi, Archie Roach, Kate Ceberano, Josh Pyke, Justine Clarke, Lior & Domini, Omar Musa and All Our Exes Live in Texas. Thursday to Monday. Exhibition Park. Tickets from $40 from folkfestival.org.au.
2. Old Bus Depot Markets
If you're looking for a great day out on Easter Sunday, the Old Bus Depot Markets is open for a special Easter market. Easter is traditionally the time when the markets host its Portobello Road Market, so after a hunt for eggs, head off to hunt for collectables. It's also a great day to enjoy Easter treats and fresh produce. Sunday, 9.30am to 2.30pm. OId Bus Depot Markets. Free event.
3. Easter High Tea
Hit the sweet spot and get a little moreish at QT Canberra with its Easter High Tea on Sunday. The team dishes up its high tea with a decadent Easter twist. The perfect mix of savoury and sweet including Sonoma "not" cross buns, chocolate eggs and mini tiered delights for the little ones. The kids will even be entertained with an egg hunt on the QT Deck. Sunday, 1pm to 4pm. Capitol Bar and Grill. Tickets are $80 for adults and $50 for children. Bookings at qthotels.com.
4. Emo/Pop-Punk Tribute Night
Bust out your skinny jeans and eyeliner, and get ready to party with five live acts bringing all of the hits from your favourite pop-punk bands. The night will kick off with full performances from tribute acts All the Small Things, My Chemical Imbalance, Cognisant and Timmy Purcell, bringing you the songs from Blink-182, My Chemical Romance, Death Cab for Cutie and AFI. DJ Black Temple will then take to the stage, spinning the tracks from bands like Panic at the Disco!, Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte, Linkin Park, Green Day, Pierce the Veil, Paramore, Mayday Parade, 30 Seconds to Mars and more. 5. Braddon Heritage Festival Walk
Join heritage architect, Eric Martin, on a tour of the architecture and history of Braddon, one of Canberra's earliest suburbs. Departing from the Mercure Hotel, visit Ainslie School, Ainslie Arts Centre, Gorman House and the Braddon Conservation area - the first subdivision developed in Canberra by the Federal Capital Advisory Committee. Saturday, 9.30am. Mercure Hotel. Tickets from $15 from Eventbrite.
