1. Canberra Centre
Can't wait till the weekend? You can hop on over to the Canberra Centre and start searching for Easter eggs with your phone. Scan the QR codes throughout the centre to access the clues and find the five hidden eggs. Once you've found all five, hop along to the customer service desk, located on level one, to claim your free chocolate.
2. Hotel Kurrajong
Hotel Kurrajong is hosting an "indulgent chocolate brunch" which will include a Easter egg hunt in the courtyard. Enjoy high tea including crepes, brownies, donuts and gelato from midday to 2pm. Tickets are $99 per adult and $69 per child (12 and under) from hotelkurrajong.com.au.
Heading out of town this weekend? The Braidwood Showground Parkrun will be holding a Easter egg hunt early on Saturday from 7.45am, so you can run off the chocolate after (or not).
4. Cubby House Coffee
Cubby House Coffee will have 1000 Easter eggs up for grabs. Starting at the base of Mount Taylor, at Sulwood Drive, go on a hike from 6am until 11am on both Saturday and Sunday, looking out for paddle pop sticks which can be exchanged for chocolate when you get back down.
5. Haig Park Village Markets
The Haig Park Village Markets in Braddon will be getting a visit from the Easter bunny, with a free egg hunt on at 10am. Easter arts and crafts tables will also be available from 9am to 2pm. The normal markets will go ahead will lots of local stalls ranging from fresh produce to baked goods.
6. Canberra Miniature Railway
Canberra Society of Model and Experimental Engineers is putting on an Easter egg hunt at the Canberra Miniature Railway. Tickets are $15 which will get you entry and unlimited train rides while children under two get in free. Train rides are on from 5pm to 9pm, with two Easter egg hunts on at 5.30pm and 6.30pm.
7. Canberra Outlet Centre
While the Canberra Outlet Centre will be closed on Good Friday, the Easter bunny will be hopping around on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday handing out Lindt chocolate eggs, with an Easter Egg hunt on Sunday.
8. QT Hotel
QT Hotel Canberra is hosting a Easter High Tea, which will include an egg hunt for kids on the QT deck, overlooking the city. Parents can sit back and enjoy food and drink from the Capitol Bar & Grill, including Sonoma hot cross buns. Tickets are $80 for adults and $50 for kids.
