1. Six the Musical
Divorced, beheaded, died. Divorced, beheaded, survived. You know them from the rhyme that describes their relationship with Henry VIII but now these six ex-wives are coming back to life and onto the stage to tell their side of history. Hit Broadway and West End musical Six, heads to the Canberra Theatre this weekend. Rather than taking to the stage in a Tudor fashion, the ex-wives present their stories as pop singers. 2. Groovin the Moo
Music festival Groovin the Moo is road-tripping through regional Australia and is stopping off in Canberra this weekend. Australian music acts Peking Duk, Middle Chance, Alice Ivy and Hockey Dad are leading this year's line-up. Iconic Australian acts Hilltop Hoods and Spiderbait will also join the tour, while international acts will include New Zealanders Broods and Chaii, and UK performers Snakehips, Riton, Wolf Alice and Thomas Headon. Sunday, 10.30am. Exhibition Park. Tickets are $129.95 from Moshtix.
3. Ash Grunwald
Following his top-10 collaboration with Josh Teskey Push The Blues Away, Ash Grunwald delivered what he considers to be his most personal album yet, Shout Into The Noise. The album saw him dive headfirst into the world of co-writes, with Grunwald working with singer Fergus James, Joel Quartermain of Eskimo Joe, songwriter Edwin White (Vance Joy), and more. The musician brings the album to Canberra this weekend. Saturday, 8pm. The Street. Tickets from $50 from thestreet.org.au.
4. Karen From Finance
Pack your calculators, save your spreadsheets and set your automatic email reply because Karen From Finance is heading out of office. Beloved Australian drag queen Karen From Finance presents her debut one-woman show Out of Office which features all of her trademark high-camp and hilarious mashups, plus all the tomfoolery you can poke a presentation pointer at. Friday, 8pm. Canberra Theatre Centre. Tickets from canberratheatrecentre.com.au.
5. Canberra Circus Festival
The Canberra Circus Festival brings some of the best in Australian circus to the capital for a jam-packed season of laughs, gasps and excitement. There will be full-length circus shows in the big top as well as outdoor performances, street artists, roving performers, workshops, markets and more in this all-ages, alcohol-free, family event.
