Nic White was the outlier in a rugby league nursery.

The ACT Brumbies and Wallabies scrumhalf once spent Thursdays playing hooker in the 13-man code alongside the likes of Sam Williams, Alex McKinnon and Jack de Belin. That's what you did as a student at St Gregory's Campbelltown.
But come Saturday, it was White's domain. He flipped the script and brought those future NRL names to rugby.
So you can see why White says it's "unreal" when he finds out his old school will play a curtain-raiser to his Brumbies game at Canberra Stadium on Sunday.
St Gregory's - a traditional schoolboy rugby league powerhouse - take on Canberra rugby nursery St Edmund's College in the precursor to the Brumbies' clash with the Hurricanes.
MORE RUGBY UNION
"I definitely was the outlier for sure," White said.
"There were a few rugby guys from out in the country, but a lot of leaguies. I'd brought a few over. I played with Alex McKinnon at 10, Sam Williams at 13, Jack de Belin played at No. 8 for us.
"We had some other phenomenal guys that were in NRL programs that were playing. Peni Tagive was playing in the centres, I don't think Chris Lawrence ever came across and played but he might have.
"We'd just play on the weekend, because what else are you going to do as a kid? We played rugby league on Thursdays, and then on Saturday, what are you going to do? Why not have a crack at rugby? For there to be a pathway for kids now is awesome."
