Lee Joseph Price appeared in the ACT Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning via video link from a Brisbane prison, where he is on remand for separate charges.
He is charged with two counts of committing an act of indecency on a 13-year-old boy between December 1995 and January 1997.
Price said he planned to plead guilty to both charges at the earliest opportunity.
Magistrate Peter Morrison adjourned the case until May 19 and told Price to seek legal representation and advice on the matter.
Price is awaiting a hearing in Brisbane and told the court he expected to remain on remand in Queensland for at least the next 12 months.
