Kyle Piper is set to step up as the ACT Comets head coach when Aiden Blizzard leaves his Cricket ACT role to move to Melbourne.
Piper has been groomed for the Comets position, but Cricket ACT will search for a new high performance manager in the hope of filling Blizzard's role in the coming weeks.
Blizzard is moving to Melbourne with wife Jess and son Eden to be closer to their families. Blizzard, 33, has juggled his Cricket ACT and Comets commitments with playing for the Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash.
The Comets' next match will be against Victoria at Manuka Oval on February 19-22.
Meanwhile, the ACT Meteors will return to action when they play against South Australia at Kingston Town Ovals on Friday and then against Tasmania at the same venue on Sunday.
The Meteors are fifth on the table and need to win both matches this week to be any hope of making the final on February 24.
