Canberra have won seven of their past nine games but few would have expected the Cavalry onslaught that left Melbourne stunned.

Gabriel Arias belted two of Canberra's six home runs in a stunning effort, with the hosts piling on six runs in the bottom of the sixth and another seven at the bottom of the eighth to rub salt into the wound.

Canberra gave up nine hits but Melbourne only managed to turn it into two runs as they were picked apart by a ruthless Cavalry side.
