BMX: Caroline Buchanan keen to end run of outs in Netherlands

Current BMX World Cup leader Caroline Buchanan is ready to defy her London Olympic misfortune this weekend in the third round of the world cup in the Netherlands.

In London Buchanan won the time trial but finished a disappointing fifth in the final, and the Canberra rider has also had no luck on the similar Papendal track. In four events on the course she has won the time trial three times, but has never won the main race.

"I just never seem to be able to get a win here," Buchanan said. "I have won the last two races [world cups] so that will give me confidence on the day."

The Australian riders' success in this final world cup before Rio, along with the results from the upcoming world championships in Columbia next month, could allow Australia to send the maximum number of riders of three men and two women to Rio.

Racing begins on Saturday with time trials and finals will be held on Sunday.
