More than 500 players from 15 local primary schools made up the 58-team festival named after the ACT Brumbies and Wallabies superstar who hails from Queanbeyan.
Giteau, 36, is still playing in Japan but was able to attend the tournament this year.
"It's a great day for kids to get out of school and get outside and be active and have some fun," Giteau said.
"It's a tournament so there's a bit of competition around, for me I'm extremely humbled there’s a cup with my name attached to it but also just being out here and mixing it with the kids.
"Some are playing rugby for the first time so hopefully some could be switching sports soon. It's a really good day and one I'm proud to be a part of."
