Kelly Rowlings glances down at her shirt and sees a Weston Creek Molonglo logo like she would every time she steps onto the field.

Only this time, there's a Tuggeranong Valley logo there too.
The Tuggeranong-Weston Creek Molonglo affiliation will open their season against Western District-ANU at Jamison Oval. Ginninderra-North Canberra Gungahlin battles Eastlake-Queanbeyan nearby at Kippax.
Rowlings says the revamped competition provides a genuine pathway to the top for Canberra players, and put simply, "it's about time".
MORE CRICKET
"You can't be what you can't see," Rowlings said.
"I've been talking to a few of the girls in my squad. We're all excited to compete and hopefully put a bit of pressure on for selection as well.
"It provides a bit of a genuine selection pathway to domestic cricket for up and coming players. The investment in the development of players and the development structure over the past few years, it's about time there is that genuine selection pathway.
"It's really important. It limits having to travel to other states to play premier cricket. It gives us another opportunity to showcase our skills locally."
Ginninderra-North Canberra Gungahlin's Caitlin Galeano says the move to keep Meteors players in the ACT competition is a major boost for the region's emerging talent.
"Having those inspirations right next to you, right in front of you, having them as mentors in the team, I think that'll be really important for the up and coming Meteors players in the competition," Galeano said.
"To have a competition like this in Canberra instead of having to travel up to Sydney, for example, to get some really good quality cricket in is really important. It'll help hugely, especially playing alongside some of the Meteors girls.
"It'll be pretty interesting but I also reckon it will be really good. A lot of the clubs are really close, we all talk to each other. It will be really good to get some good community cricket going in Canberra but still really competitive."
