Canberra Potters presents its annual members' exhibition featuring some of the best work created by its members during the past 12 months. The exhibition presents the inexhaustible breadth of ceramic arts through works using combinations of different clays, making, decorating and firing techniques to create works that are unique in form, texture and colour. Apia Good Times
The Apia Good Times tour is set to return for its eighth year with a line-up of eight of the country's favourite musicians. There will be performances from Brian Cadd, Deborah Conway, Joe Camilleri, John Paul Young, Kate Ceberano, Leo Sayer, Vika and Linda Bull, and Wendy Matthews. The Stranger
Renowned as one of the great character studies in modern literature, The Stranger is a masterpiece by Nobel Prize winner Albert Camus. One of Canberra's most celebrated actors, Christopher Samuel Carroll, delivers a performance of searing intensity in this solo adaptation of a modern classic. In this nuanced production, audiences are challenged to test the boundaries of their own morality - to relate to this stranger or cast their judgement upon him. Wednesday to Friday, 7.30pm. Un-Titled floor talk
Take an in-depth look at the work of Elizabeth Newman with curator Tony Oates at the artist's latest exhibition, Un-Titled. This exhibition surveys the work of the Melbourne artist, be it collage, installation, text-based, textile or found object, and is infused with painterly notions of re-presentation. Join Lightbulb Improv for lighthearted fun as they deliver a night of comedy inspired by your suggestions and the joy of Christmas. When it comes to the plot of Canberra Youth Theatre's latest production, the title says it all. Two Twenty Somethings Decide Never to be Stressed About Anything Ever Again. Daniel Champagne
Daniel Champagne heads to The Street this weekend. The young virtuoso, recently described as "the finest guitar player of this generation", first picked up his instrument of choice as a five year old following in the footsteps of a musical father. He began writing songs at 12, training classically throughout his teens and performing wherever he could, honing his craft and developing the dynamite live show that he is renowned for today. Mikelangelo and the Black Sea Gentlemen
Mikelangelo and the Black Sea Gentlemen are five performers whose roots run deep in the Canberra music scene, featuring Michael Simic on guitar, Pip Branson on violin, Phil Moriarty on clarinet, Guy Freer on accordion and Sam Martin on double bass. The group has packed houses from the Sydney Opera House to London's West End, releasing four albums and building a dedicated following here and around the world. This week they are back with a special David Branson 20th Anniversary Concert. Branson was a founding member of Mikelangelo and the Black Sea Gentlemen, playing the violin and appearing on stage as Senor Handsome. Friday, 7.30pm. Canberra Theatre Centre.
