18-year-old woman assaulted at ANU

A man assaulted an 18-year-old woman at the Australian National University on Tuesday night, police said.

It was the second attack at a Canberra university in a week, although police do not believe they are linked.

Around 6.30pm on Tuesday, a man unknown to the woman approached her in the carpark near the Fulton Muir Building on Daley Road at the university's Acton campus.

He then allegedly assaulted her.

Police were yet to release any further details on the assault and what the offender looked like on Thursday morning.

Last Wednesday, a man dragged a woman into bushes before indecently assaulting her at the University of Canberra.

Police are urging any witnesses to either of the incidents or who can assist the investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via act.crimestoppers.com.au.
