There is always a crowd waiting for the doors to open on the first day of the show. Last year there were 70 people lined up.

It's because of the quality of the craft — from hand-knitted Christmas decorations to unique jewellery to stunning pottery — and the old-school care taken to make it that really sets the event apart.

This year the show is celebrating its 25th anniversary.

Exhibitors come from far and wide — there are 80 this year — and a percentage of sales go to the church.

Convenor Pam Taylor said over the 25 years, $200,000 has been raised for the church to distribute to local, national and international charities and causes.

Doors open at the church hall at 16 Parkinson Street in Weston at 10am on Friday and stay open until 9pm. Opening hours on Saturday are 10am to 4pm.

One of the original forces behind the first craft show, Annette Manton, who now lives on the South Coast, will be returning to officially open the craft show at 7pm on Friday.

The Posh Nosh cafe also returns with its all-home-cooked fare including its famous scones.
